to sustenance

Every day, supermarkets and retailers set aside perfectly good food that is near-expiry or with damaged packaging. Instead of letting it go to waste, we upcycle through our Market Place programme to redistribute to welfare homes and families who benefit from them most.

Who benefits from Market Place?

Market Place supports welfare homes and other social service organisations that care for vulnerable groups, from the elderly to people with special needs.

In 2025 alone, we saved $194,797 worth of food, supplying 30 welfare homes and reaching over 1,100 beneficiaries with nutritious items that would otherwise have been discarded.

How the
Market Place works

Receive

We work with partners like NTUC FairPrice to collect near-expiry and packaging-damaged non-perishable goods. These items may not make it to store shelves, but they are still safe for consumption.

Sort

Our volunteers check every item to ensure food safety, carefully sorting donations by type and expiry date. Nothing goes out without a quality check.

Distribute

Each month, welfare homes share their wish lists. We pack and fulfil as much as we can, then distribute the items free of charge. Remaining items are channelled into our Community Food Pack programme, ensuring nothing goes to waste.

WHY MARKET PLACE
IS IMPORTANT
