Since 2003, we have been on a steady mission to fight food insecurity in Singapore with heart, dignity, and consistency. What started as a humble bread collection has grown into a national movement for food justice and care.

Food is a basic need and a foundation for opportunity

In Singapore, food insecurity often means facing inconsistent, unreliable access to nutritious food because of financial constraints.

Most of those whom we support live on less than $800 per month, leaving little room for fresh, balanced meals.

Without dependable access to food, health, stability, and dignity are compromised.

Food security offers hope, growth, and opportunities for fulfillment.

That is why we ensure that individuals and families have access to consistent, reliable, and sustainable food support.

We do not just place food on tables. We nourish lives and futures.

our story

From one kind act,
a movement grew

They decided to do something about it. With the help of volunteers, they began collecting and redistributing unsold bread to those in need.
And from there, we grew by adding school-based initiatives, food distribution markets, and community partnerships to meet the growing community needs.
In 2003, our founders Christine and Henry Laimer, an Austrian couple based in Singapore, saw how much bread was being discarded by bakeries.

February 2003
We began distribution of monthly food packs to support families with dependable essentials.
June 2003
We partnered with schools to provide students with timely nourishment.
June 2004
The programme was refreshed and became the first endorsed by the Health Promotion Board.
May 2018
Surplus food from NTUC FairPrice was redirected to welfare homes in need.
April 2015
We piloted a shop-for-free concept that empowered choice with dignity.

It takes a community to fight food insecurity.

We work closely with community partners such as schools, grassroots organisations, family service centres, and charities like Boys' Town and Ren Ci Nursing Home. Together with the support of corporations like NTUC FairPrice and OCBC, we support daily food operations across Singapore.


And thanks to our sustainable model and strong governance, we continue to be recognised as one of Singapore's most trusted charities.
