With supply chain disruptions due to geopolitical tensions, food prices have increased 7% last year. For needy families, inflation hits harder for them as they are already spending a significant percentage of their income on the essentials such as housing, utilities, transportation, healthcare, food and telcoms services.
In 2019, Food from the Heart helped 44,600 beneficiaries. Last year, our food charity provided more than 60,000 beneficiaries with food support throughout Singapore, a staggering 34% increase since pre-COVID.
Food from the Heart turns 20 this year, a milestone achievement for an independent, homegrown food charity. We're proud to have expanded our reach and improved on our services over the last two decades.
Our consistent, reliable and dependable food support helps vulnerable communities cope with rising costs of living. We work with grassroots organisations, schools and welfare homes to reach out to less-privileged individuals and families who need our support. Their per capita income typically falls below $690 per month.
Help us raise 25,000 food items through HEART ON WHEELS, our 20th anniversary food donation drive to feed communities in need.
Donating food is an immediate and tangible way to help someone. Additionally, Standard Chartered Singapore will match the value of the food we raised (donated by you!) at the donation drive, up to S$30,000 in cash to our charity.
Rice (2kg and 5kg), cooking oil (1L), instant noodles, canned food (sardines, tuna, curry chicken, soup), coffee, tea and Milo in sachets, oat, cereal, biscuit and bread spreads.
*A variety of types is preferred.
Please make sure items are at least 3 months before expiry.
Come on down to WEARNES at 45 Leng Kee Rd Singapore 159103 on Saturday and Sunday, 4th and 5th March 2023 with your food donations. Enjoy a complimentary tyre shine on us throughout the event.
Early bird special: The first 100 cars each day will receive a complimentary treat sponsored by McDonald's Singapore!
Order food items on our wish list from your preferred online grocer and arrange delivery directly to the event on 4 & 5 March, 9am - 6pm. With the help of volunteers, our team will be there to receive, sort and record the food items donated.
Cash donations tie us over when we fall short of donated food items. We hope that you can consider making a charitable donation through this Giving.sg campaign, where your donations will be matched dollar-to-dollar by Tote Board. It is a safe and seamless way to help needy families with food support. Plus, cash donations to an IPC charity approved by the Commissioner of Charities, such as Food from the Heart, are eligible for 250% tax deduction.
Come together to help us feed communities in need! We'll see you at the HEART ON WHEELS, food donation drive.
